Need to buy for a mountain biker this Christmas? Or looking for some ideas to pass on to your family?

Rather than saying ‘I don’t know, don’t worry me this year, I’ll just get something in the sales’, how about giving them a list and saying ‘any of these would be good.’

Really this is my list, but hey, it just might give you some ideas this holiday season.

For those looking for some last minute gift ideas, especially for the trail/AM mountain biker, check out some ideas below.

Crank Bros – Candy 3

I will be upgrading to these in 2013. An example of what great design, from both an aesthetic and functional view, can be achieved.

POC – VPD Knee Pads

Another example of a strong design aesthetic making inroads into the mountain bike community. POC sports, hailing from Sweden, bring an enviable Scandinavian approach to their product designs, and have suitably tested on the trail.

Schwalbe – Hans Dampf

The Hans Dampf is getting consistent reviews, both from the mountain bike media and riders alike as an ideal, all round trail tyre.

Privateer Magazine

Bringing you the stories and personalities from behind the curtain of the mountain biking industry. More a celebration of mountain biking, rather that a trade magazine. World class photography and journalism.

Passportes to the Portes du Soleil MTB

One of the great events for the trail/all mountain rider, the Portes du Soleil takes you throughout ski villages across this vast alpine area in both France and Switzerland. The event is on the 28th – 30th of June 2013.

If you miss out on the cut off dates for Xmas delivery, you never know, the sale price post Xmas, may be that much sweeter.

Merry Xmas!
