Excited to be asked to submit my favourite trail as part of Merrell’s launch of the ‘Capra’ shoe.

A slight variation of my local along the MTB Yarra Trails, with time taken off the bike to explore the Yarra Bend Park around the famed Pipe Bridge at the Fairfield Boat House.

The Capra’s were a welcomed surprise when they arrived and did not disappoint when in use. Having worn Salomon’s for many years, I was initially apprehensive, but was immediately impressed. What stood out, as soon as you slipped your foot in, was the Capra’s enveloping like fit of the shoe. For those that have tried on Giro MTB shoes, you will know what I mean.

The second key difference that I noticed was the raised heel, providing a boot like feel and stability, yet still have the agility and flexibility thanks to the Vibram sole.

The third difference was the laces. Now I know you can change these up, but to be supplied with laces that actually stay laced up was a welcomed change.

Combine the above with an on-trend look and you have got yourself an ideal trail/approach shoe.

Merrell Capra

If you are looking for a great approach shoe, The Capra delivers on comfort, superb grip and backed by a Vibram sole.

Thanks to Merrell Australia for providing the Capra shoes for review.
